Dr. Ruth searching for stage treatment

Dr. Ruth will probably be reimagined on stage this summer season in the world premiere of "Dr. Ruth, Completely," single-hander starring Debra Jo Rupp (TV's "The Simpsons," "That '70s Show") and composed by Mark St. Germain ("Freud's Last Session"). Show may have on Barrington Stage's Stage 2 in Pittsfield, Mass., June 19-This summer time 15 in the production helmed having a.n. Julianne Boyd. St. Germain's "Freud's Last Session," another counselor-centric tale, bowed at Barrington right before Off Broadway, where the still-running production remains round the boards for just about any year . 5. "Dr. Ruth" marks the initial output of BSC's New Works Initiative, through which playwrights and musical theater writing teams will probably be commissioned to produce work that BSC will produce. The second stage may even feature the completely new England preem of Duncan Macmillan's two-character drama "Bronchi,Inch directed by Aaron Posner (May 23-June 10). Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theater Lab, under composer William Finn and Boyd, starts its seventh season getting a workshop output of garage rock musical "The Black Suits," which runs August. 16-Sept. 2.
