Lythgoe: Fox cutting 'Dance' to at least one hour

Fox is reducing returning unscripted series "And That Means You Think You'll Be Able To Dance" to at least one episode every week, in line with the series' executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe, who broke what is the news to fans on his Twitter account on Sunday. "Fox has cancelled the final results show therefore i will have to affect the format of 'SYTYCD,'" Lythgoe tweeted. "No less than we have another season within the finish of May." A speaker for Fox could not browse the network's decision. The elimination would open an hour or so approximately of primetime property on Fox's summer season schedule that is not available in the last eight seasons. Whenever a vital tentpole of Fox's summer season schedule that opened up the evening following a finale of "The The American Idol Show Show,Inch "SYTCD" ratings have faded over time, calculating about 5 million total audiences over its past two seasons. Fox programming chief Kevin Reilly indicated taken he was keen to obtain additional scripted fare on through the summer season but hasn't revealed any kind of such project. What is going to replace "SYTYCD" is not determined. "SYTCD" typically has one episode through which its ballroom ballroom dancers perform to retain their perfect the series, adopted the next evening having a results show in which the fate in the ousted dancer is revealed. Just how that format will probably be tweaked to at least one hour every week has not been determined. "Don't get worried 'SYTYCD' fans," Lythgoe added via Twitter.
